The Park was recently improved with several new picnic tables, landscaping including shade trees, and a retaining wall with better access to the beach. The Park covers 79 hectares of beautiful beach and forested uplands, and boasts a 128-site campground, boat launch and large day-use area. Swimming, fishing and birdwatching are popular activities, as is the self-guided nature walk to Margaret Falls. Just 14 km from the Trans-Canada Highway along the western shore of the Salmon Arm of Shuswap Lake, Herald is a great spot to use as a base camp for visiting the many attractions of the Shuswap area. This location is just a 10-minute walk from the development Margaret Falls Head out on this 0.8-km out-and-back trail near Herald Park, in Sunnybrae, BC. Generally considered a moderately challenging route, it takes an average of 21 min to complete. This is a very popular area for hiking and walking, so you'll likely encounter other people while exploring. The best times to visit this trail are July through August. This trail starts at the parking lot off Sunnybrae Point Road, where restrooms and a campground are available, and leads to Margaret Falls in Herald Provincial Park. It’s a short hike through a shaded forest, following along Reinecker Creek, with a picturesque waterfall and interesting rock formations at the end.
